CELA is celebrating passing the million book milestone. In a world where many people with print disabilities have so little access or choice in reading materials, a million books represents a wealth of choices.

The Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) and the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS), at the Library of Congress in the United States have partnered to exchange accessible books, thanks to the Marrakesh Treaty.

This summer CELA is delighted to announce a pilot program with Audible, designed to enhance access to accessible audiobooks for CELA users. 

Congratulations to the authors whose works have inspired Emmy nominated television shows, and to the actors and creative teams who brought them to life onscreen.

Throughout the month of June, in light of the discoveries of unmarked graves at Residential Schools, CELA has been featuring books to help educate us on the impacts of these institutions.

It's important for all of us to have access to stories that reflect our lives. For International Transgender Day of Visibility we are offering book suggestions for kids and teens, and other resources we found educational.

We are so pleased to announce that CELA received $3 million in funding from the Government of Canada Social Development Partnerships Program to be spent during our current fiscal year, 2020-2021.
