Smart Speaker Pilot Help

Google Home Training Materials

Follow the steps below to get started with your Google Home device.

  1. Set up your Google Account

    After receiving your Google Home device (it arrived in a padded envelope), the next step is to set up your Google Account if you don't already have one. If you have an email address that ends in @gmail.com, then you can skip to Step 2 on this page, because you already have a Google Account. If not, follow the instructions in the link below to create a Google Account. Once this is done, you can follow the next steps for setting up your Google Home account.

  2. Set up your Google smart speaker

    If you already have a Google account, or you have gone through the above steps to set one up, you are ready for Step 2. Follow the link below to learn how to set up your smart speaker. You will need a smart phone or a tablet and WiFi access to do this.

  3. Link your CELA account

    Once your device is set up, you will be able to use the Accessible Reading Canada application with your Google Smart Speaker. The first thing you will be prompted to do is link your CELA account. Once your account is linked, you'll be able to start reading!

    You're ready to start using the Accessible Reading Canada to find and read books!

Amazon Echo Training Materials

Follow the steps below to get started with your Amazon Echo device.

  1. Set up your Amazon Account

    After receiving your Amazon Echo device (it arrived in a small box), the next step is to set up your Amazon Account if you don't already have one.     The first time you launch the Accessible Reading skill, you will have to link your CELA account. This will only have to be done once. Follow the link below for instructions.
