Résumé
It’s the annual Mudsock Meadow Halloween picnic, and all the kids are worried about the ghost of Titus Dinworthy showing up and spoiling the fun. William is pretty sure old Titus is just swamp gas; it’s Hester Bledden he’s worried… about. Having failed to win the pumpkin-carving, tug-of-war, and seed-spitting contests, William hopes to impress Hester by winning the Dress-Up Competition. But when something eerie rises out of the swamp, William gets a chance to show both Titus and Hester what a boy from Mudsock Meadow is made of. Grades K-3. 2009, c1992.
